Northern Black Forest Cardigan

I’ll start this year with a cardigan I made for Marvin. Its story starts in September of last year, when I bought the fiber. I visited the Straubenhardter Wollfest, a wool festival in Straubenhardt. Straubenhardt isn’t far from where I live, however it belongs to the black forest and you can see that! This was my first wool festival ever and I went there because some of the gals of my spinning group helped organizing it. That meant that there was a whole room reserved for my spinning group. img_20161106_135717It is time of the years again when I sew zipped hoodies. That is because wearing hoodies this time of the year is so practical. img_20160626_165119Well, I’m not really carrying them, I’m wearing them. But as the German word for carrying is the same as the one for wearing, this is a super funny pun in German, you just have to believe me ;) It would even be better, if I had actually seen Dirty Dancing. Shame on me: I haven’t! Now it’s out. But I can make good for that! I have a new dress to show off! And yes, it is over and over with pieces of watermelons! I bought it at the end of summer last year and as this obviously is a fabric for a summer dress I waited til recently to turn it into a dress. Continue reading
