Same procedure as every year.. Marvin needs shorts! He seems to need so much more than I can produce. Last year he even bought two pairs. What a waste of fun, if you ask me. Although I have to admit that the fun decreases when I am forced to sew three pairs of shorts in a row. I should start in winter I guess. But who likes to sew shorts in winter? I did some unselfish sewing! For Marvin, of course. He was thinking about buying two or three new pairs of jeans.I couldn’t let that happen, because, you know, that would be a total waste of fun! Also I thought that I now have a good fitting pattern for pants for him. It needed a little adjustment to pass as a pair of regular jeans, but nothing too difficult. Sewing for Marvin is relatively easy: the only garments he needs are shorts and t-shirts. He doesn’t wear much else the whole summer. While I can chose between wearing skirts, dresses or pants the only thing Marvin can wear in this climate we have here are shorts. When we lived a little farther north Marvin didn’t wear shorts that often, he says he still doesn’t like wearing them to work, but it’s not like he has a choice now ;) Continue reading
After finishing my wedding dress I felt the strong urge to finally make jeans again! I really like all the topstitching and all those little details you like hammering in rivets and embroidering back pockets. That is actually the most fun to me, embroidering back pockets. Also I have a lot of denim fabrics in my fabric closet because I keep on buying them, forgetting about the ones I already have, so sewing jeans is kind of a stash buster to me :) Continue reading
Amelie infected me! She plans on sewing every month at least one garment for her boyfriend. How kind is that? Marvin has been asking for quite some time for a new pair of shorts and so I decided to make him shorts! Since I don’t go shopping for clothes anymore, Marvins doesn’t go either.
