Me Made May 18 – Week 3

May is slowly coming to its end, however the content of my closet is not. I think I have enough clothes to fill another me made month.. At least half a month. Sadly I haven’t identified gaps in my wardrobe that would justify sewing even more clothes. However I realized that my backpack starts falling apart and I already ordered some supplies to make a new one. And here comes my third week of this year’s Me Made May: Continue reading

Me Made May 18 – Week 2

Another week has passed, and I have managed to take daily pictures for Me Made May. The backdrops are far less spectacular than they were last week when I was in Sweden. I had to work, but at least Me Made May motivated me to wear nice dresses everyday to work. I still haven’t gotten to my most precious dresses, as usual I’m sparing them for the end of May. Or for better weather, I don’t really know my motivations.. However, here comes week 2: Continue reading

Me Made May 18 – Week 1

I spontaneously decided to take part in Me Made May again this year. But unofficially, I didn’t sign up and I won’t share any of my pictures on Instagram, as I don’t have an account and am really happy with that decision. I will however, share my daily pictures in the sidebar of this blog and I’m planning on posting overviews with more information every week here on the blog as well. Continue reading

Butterick B6484

Here comes another dress made from a pattern that I ordered directly at Butterick, while Marvin was staying in the US for three months. I ordered the pattern 5 days before he was leaving and they arrived the evening before he left. You can read all about the dramatic story here if you wish ;) Soo this is the second pattern I made, it’s another Gretchen Hirsch and Butterick pattern and its name is B4684. I bought this pattern because I had seen it made from a border print by one of the participants of last year’s Outfit Along and it looked stunning. Continue reading

Mira II

Last weekend I finally sewed a dress that I initially planned to wear last spring ;) I ordered this super cute fabric at Snaply, a German onlineshop known for their innovative sewing gadgets. Apparently they also sell beautiful knit fabric. I ordered two meters of this springy bird fabric and paid 14.30 €/m. Sadly the darker colors bled out into the light beige during the pre-washing procedure. I tried to cut around the baddest stains, but I didn’t manage to avoid them all. Continue reading

Tosti Winter Jacket

I made a real winter jacket! Yes, a real one this time, it even has a hood ;) I finished it at the end of last year, but it has been scarily warm here the last month and I wanted to test the jacket under real conditions so that some time passed between making this jacket and showing it here. As I’m really proud of how it turned out and it took a lot of my time and nerves and all the materials where so super expensive I felt that I should take my time with this post :) Continue reading

Flannel Belladone Dress

When I visited Marvin in America in autumn of last year I bought some pieces of fabric, for my collection ;) I made a dress from the first piece and – SURPRISE_ I amde a dress from the second piece as well ;) To my defense: I didn’t plan that, it just happened! I Bought the fabric at Joann’s in Raleigh. This was the only fabric store I went to, when I was in the US. Because obviously Walmart does not count! Continue reading

My Handmade Year 2017

Welcome 2018! I’ll start this year like many others on the Me Made Mittwoch Blog with a short review of my handmade year 2017. Let’s start with the hard facts: I sewed 11 dresses, 7 tops, 3 skirts, 3 pairs of pants, 2 jackets, 2 bras, 2 bags and 1 bathrobe. I knitted 5 cardigans, 2 of them from yarn that I spun myself, 1 dress from handspun, 2 wraps (1 from handspun) and 1 top from handspun linen yarn. Continue reading

Butterick B6380

Sooo, I found time to write a new blog post :) That’s good news! I decided to write about the dress I made recently. It is kind of an America-vacation-Souvenir-Dress as I purchased both the pattern and the fabric in America. And to spoil a little: it won’t stay the only dress of its kind, there are more to come! Because guess what: shopping for American fabrics and American patterns is surprisingly easy in America, ha! Continue reading

Black Forest Skirt

Surprisingly for me it is already December. And even more surprising is that I have so much things that need to be done right now ;) So, the same as every December so far.. I have a lot of planned blog posts. Earlier that year I carded alpaca fiber right off from the alpaca that Marvin and I often take walks with and I wanted to share my insights. I have also spun some of the alpaca already and I took a lot of pictures of the whole process. Continue reading
