Flannel Belladone Dress

When I visited Marvin in America in autumn of last year I bought some pieces of fabric, for my collection ;) I made a dress from the first piece and – SURPRISE_ I amde a dress from the second piece as well ;) To my defense: I didn’t plan that, it just happened! I Bought the fabric at Joann’s in Raleigh. This was the only fabric store I went to, when I was in the US. Because obviously Walmart does not count! Continue reading

Black Forest Skirt

Surprisingly for me it is already December. And even more surprising is that I have so much things that need to be done right now ;) So, the same as every December so far.. I have a lot of planned blog posts. Earlier that year I carded alpaca fiber right off from the alpaca that Marvin and I often take walks with and I wanted to share my insights. I have also spun some of the alpaca already and I took a lot of pictures of the whole process. Continue reading

Outfit Along 2017

Same procedure as every year! I participated in the Outfit Along this year, as I have done the previous three years. During the Outfit along from June til the end of July every participant creates an outfit that has to consist of at least one knitted and one sewed item. The participants can chat and show their finished items in Andi Satterlund’s Ravelry Group. If you post your finished outfit there you can win a price. As in the years before there are two official patterns. The knitted garment is the newest Andi Satterlund pattern, Anaheim, a cropped wrap cardigan with a lace pattern. The sewing pattern is the Kim Dress by ByHandLondon. Andi published tutorials on the cardigan, and Lauren of Lladybird published tutorials on the dress. Continue reading

Flamingo Chardon Skirt

I don’t know if this true for where you live but Flamingo Prints can be seen everywhere here in Germany right now. Last year it was the pineapple and the water melon, and before everyone was into foxes. Like with each of these trends I didn’t know that flamingos were a thing right now. You have to believe me, I’m not a hipster! I simply did not know! I saw this print out of the corner of my eye, when I was attending a sewing blogger meet up in a fabric store. I had to pause my conversation and buy this fabric! Continue reading

Tania Culottes und Plantain Tee

Spring is lurking around the corner and I have nothing to wear ;) So I started my seemingly annual T-Shirt sewing marathon. This is the third time in a row that I sew myself a pile of T-Shirts in April. I first cut them all out, then I sew the shoulder seams of each tee, than the neck binding of each one and so on. Just like I think it is done in a sweatshop ;). The last two years I started this marathon because MeMadeMay was about to start and I felt I didn’t have enough basic tees. Continue reading

Anémone and Renfrew

img_20160122_160418I sewed a skirt! I already announced that I will sew a lot a skirts this winter, so no one is allowed to complain ;) When it comes to skirts I would love to only sew Hollyburns and Kellys and Brumbys, but well I don’t want to bore myself and everyone else and so I told myself that it was time for a fresh skirt pattern and I chose: Anémone. Anémone is a Deer&Doe pattern and seeing so many beautiful versions of it in the Internet made me want to try it. Continue reading

Bruyorn

img_20151220_150901-1.. or Hawthère? Well, that’s what you get if you always use the name of th pattern you made as post title. If you’re making a pattern hack of a French and American pattern you might just end up with ‘Bruyorn’. Okay, I could have gone with something is. Wouldn’t have been the first time that I didn’t stick to my own principles, but to be honest I think Bruyorn sounds funny, and who knows, maybe I’m setting a trend and tomorrow everyone is sewing Bruyorn and I gave this hack its name ;) If you haven’t guessed by now, the dress I am going to show you is one half Bruyère and the other Hawthorn. Continue reading

Chardon

img_20150930_173627As already announced last week, I made another Deer&Doe Chardon Skirt. There is nothing much special about this skirt. Just 3 pleated rectangles sewn together. There isn’t even a lining included in the instructions. And as I already made one boring solid coloured version I thought that this time I needed to do something reeeeally fun! ;) So I started watching out for fabrics with wide stripes. Doesn’t seem like many people are looking for something like this because I didn’t find any. Continue reading

Audrey in Unst and Chardon

img_20150920_154113I#m really into blue at the moment. The fabrics I buy and work with are blue and the yarns I knit with are blue. I always thought that my favourite color was red or violet, something fresh and exciting, but know I’m somehow stuck with with boring blue. I remember that when I was in pre school my favourite color was blue. And then blue eye shadow got trendy and blue lots its appeal to me ;) There are still some shades of blue that I really dislike. Like royal blue. It reminds me of 90’s bathrooms. And of a German football club.. ;) Continue reading

Sleeveless Bruyere

img_20150830_182244Marvin asked me if I could sew him a jacket. So I ordered fabric at Stoff&Stil. And because there was a big sale I ordered some pink-orangeish light cotton fabric for me too. At this point of time I haven’t even gotten started on Marvin’s jacket. I haven’t even bought the pattern. But I already made a blouse from the fabric I bought for me. To be fair I have to say, that Marvin won’t need the jacket until autumn and I really needed this blouse (haha), plus his fabric is gray and mine is pink. So I didn’t have a choice, did I? :)
