A Dress Full of Llamas

I made another dress! :) And this time I thought it was worth it taking proper pictures and translating the post. I have neglected the English version of this blog a little, because time is sparse right now with starting a new job. But it’s getting better, so here it is: the post about my new dress. The story started with the fabric which I bought when I was in between jobs and had almost two full month of work free time. It was great! First thing I did was to buy some fabric and this is the third dress I have made from this batch (first dress, second dress). I found this fabric in the patchwork isle of the store. It has llamas on it :) Continue reading

Anna Dress

Hi, I’m back! I don’t know if anybody notices me gone, however I was visiting Marvin. He is in the US for a three month internship in Raleigh, North Carolina. So I visited him after the first half of his stay was over, I stayed there for eleven days, he took the days off and we spend our vacation in the area. And as it is still hot in th southern US I took a lot of my summer dresses with me ;) And I also used this vacation as an excuse to sew myself a new one ;) Continue reading

Outfit Along 2017

Same procedure as every year! I participated in the Outfit Along this year, as I have done the previous three years. During the Outfit along from June til the end of July every participant creates an outfit that has to consist of at least one knitted and one sewed item. The participants can chat and show their finished items in Andi Satterlund’s Ravelry Group. If you post your finished outfit there you can win a price. As in the years before there are two official patterns. The knitted garment is the newest Andi Satterlund pattern, Anaheim, a cropped wrap cardigan with a lace pattern. The sewing pattern is the Kim Dress by ByHandLondon. Andi published tutorials on the cardigan, and Lauren of Lladybird published tutorials on the dress. Continue reading

Flora Dress

It is time to show you another dress. And to sew some more. It is hard to believe but last year I discovered a gap in my wardrobe: it was lacking breezy summer dresses and breezy tops. I must have been in denial about the gross weather in summer in southern Germany in the Rhine area. It is humid and it is hot! And it is getting worse every year. And what is even worse is that I have the impression other people are happy about that. Continue reading

img_20160429_131358I feel like I haven’t sewn a dress in years. Or at leas it felt like it ;) As soon as the weather got better I felt the urge to make summer dress. And boy have I made one hell of a summer dress! But that’s not what I have for you today. Before I had this urge I was able to convince myself to sew a plain dress for a change. I took out some lightweight denim that I had in my closet for years and I made a plain dress from it. I’m so proud! Continue reading

OAL 2015: Flora Dress und Peacock Eyes Cardigan

img_20150712_182621All year I have been waiting for this years Outfit Along! It was such a great experience to participate in it last year and it opened some new doors to me knit wise as well as sewing wise. For those of you you haven’t heart about it yet the Outfit Along is about sewing a whole outfit. Lauren is presenting a dress she picked on her blog and writing in detail about all the steps it takes to make it. And Andi writes in her blog about the knitting pattern she picked. But everyone is free to chose her own patterns and make her own outfit. Continue reading

img_20150627_191201Last time I sewed the Flora/Elisalex Dress Hack it was still winter. Nevertheless I wore this long sleeved dress last week! Just think about that! It is supposed to be summer here! But that didn’t stop me from sewing summer dresses in May already. I know I made this one in May, because you can see party of it on my ironing board when I took pictures for the MeMadeMay theme “sewing space”. Thankfully the summer came three days ago and I can now show you a real summery dress! Continue reading
