Welcome 2018! I’ll start this year like many others on the Me Made Mittwoch Blog with a short review of my handmade year 2017. Let’s start with the hard facts: I sewed 11 dresses, 7 tops, 3 skirts, 3 pairs of pants, 2 jackets, 2 bras, 2 bags and 1 bathrobe. I knitted 5 cardigans, 2 of them from yarn that I spun myself, 1 dress from handspun, 2 wraps (1 from handspun) and 1 top from handspun linen yarn. Continue reading

Tablet Weaving
Shortly before this year ends I have managed to write another blogpost, I have had the days off between Christmas and New Year’s and found motivation and time to write about my latest hobby: tablet weaving. It is impossible to have enough hobbies, however not even one whole year ago I was sure that weaving was not for me. Then however, I saw those beautiful tablet weaving projects on the Ravelry blog and I slowly started changing my mind. Continue reading

Sooo, I found time to write a new blog post :) That’s good news! I decided to write about the dress I made recently. It is kind of an America-vacation-Souvenir-Dress as I purchased both the pattern and the fabric in America. And to spoil a little: it won’t stay the only dress of its kind, there are more to come! Because guess what: shopping for American fabrics and American patterns is surprisingly easy in America, ha! Continue reading
Black Forest Skirt
Surprisingly for me it is already December. And even more surprising is that I have so much things that need to be done right now ;) So, the same as every December so far.. I have a lot of planned blog posts. Earlier that year I carded alpaca fiber right off from the alpaca that Marvin and I often take walks with and I wanted to share my insights. I have also spun some of the alpaca already and I took a lot of pictures of the whole process. Continue reading
Salal Cardigan
Now that I spin my own yarn, my yarn drawer only gets more crowded. And I still have some yarn in it that I bought over two years ago. I’m not that much of a stockpiler when it comes to yarn and this is definitely the first time in my life yarn has survived that long. But every time I set my mind to finally make something from that old boring yarn I rather knit something from some much more fun handspun. Continue reading
‘And I Believe In Love’
It is not about what you deserve. It is about what you believe. And I believe in Love.
Yes, I saw the new Wonder Woman Movie. I was able to watch it during my flight to the US. By then I already had my eyes on the Wonder Woman Warp knitting instructions by Carissa Browning because one of my spinning group buddies brought her wrap with her last time, to show it off. And it worked on me ;) And I thought it would be nice to see the movie before knitting the wrap. Continue reading

Last time I visited my favorite fabric shop in Moers summer was about to start and all the winter fabrics were on sale. So I found this navy blue wool fabric that has little light blue cotton dots on it. I don’t remember how much it actually cost, but it was less than 10 €/m. And as I only wanted 1 m and there were 1,5 m left of the fabric I got 1,5 m for the price of 1 m. You see, it has a reason why this is my favorite shop ;) Initially I wanted to make a skirt from the fabric, but now that I had 1,5 m I changed my plans and made a jacket. Continue reading
Sunshine Cardigan
Usually I am not a fan of citrus fruit colors, especially orange and yellow. And if you have been following my blog for a while you know there now is a big ‘but’ coming up. So, here we go: but my aversions vanished a little in the past 6 months. Having a closet full of blue, red, green and purple sweaters might have had an impact. Having sweaters in every color of the rainbow is a great justification to make another one. Not that I need a justification, I’m past that stage now ;) Continue reading
Softshell Jacket
I had been thinking for a while about sewing one of those softshell jackets. Everybody has one and you can buy them anywhere here in Germany. I already have a memade raincoat in my closet, but after wearing it for a while I realized that it lets too much wind through and I can only wear it, when it is above 18 °C. So my holiday was coming up and I thought a softshell jacket would be practical to have. And so I had a goal and not that much time to achieve it. This is how tales of exciting adventures start, haha. Continue reading
Anna Dress
Hi, I’m back! I don’t know if anybody notices me gone, however I was visiting Marvin. He is in the US for a three month internship in Raleigh, North Carolina. So I visited him after the first half of his stay was over, I stayed there for eleven days, he took the days off and we spend our vacation in the area. And as it is still hot in th southern US I took a lot of my summer dresses with me ;) And I also used this vacation as an excuse to sew myself a new one ;) Continue reading
