As promised I’m showing you my second Outfit Along outfit. Quick reminder: the outfit along is a yearly challenge to knit one part of an outfit and sew another. Lauren manages the swing part and Andi picks the pattern and helps with the knitting part. I finished my first outfit about a month ago, I sewed shorts and knitted a top and I decided to make another outfit because I still had some time and because I wanted too ;P Continue reading

OAL 2016: Zinone and Chataigne
It is June and it is Outfit Along! Like in the last 2 years, I’m participating. same procedure as every year, you have to knit one garment and to sew one garment and thus create an outfit. The knitting part is organized by Andi , the sewing part is handled by Lauren. Each of them picks a pattern and provides a Craft Along giving tips and helping to create the outfit. In the last two years the suggested sewing pattern was a dress, the suggested knitting pattern was a Cardigan. You didn’t have to pick the suggested patterns, and I didn’t. Continue reading
Tights
Hello all, I have returned from Iceland. Naturally, you might think, everyone has to return from a holiday someday, but in Iceland I wouldn’t take that for granted, Iceland is different and every year there are tourists who do not return, or at least not alive. Well, I guess Iceland wasn’t made for mammals, and all mammals that live there seem to be imported, human sheep and horses and that’s about it. Sometimes you have whales.. ;) There’s danger in every corner and everything looks an smells so hostile, huge waterfalls, hot steam coming out of the ground smelling of sulfur, volcanoes, cliffs, very cold weather and magma formations as far as the eye can see. No trees, no birds, no noise. Continue reading
Wedding: Featherweight Cardigan
When I started planning my wedding dress it was clear to my that I would not only sew a dress but also knit a a cardigan. I simply love the combination dress/cardigan and I knew I would need it, as the wedding took place in winter. When I planned the cardigan back in November I really thought that this cardigan would be enough to keep me warm during the day. Oh how wrong I was! Continue reading
What I really did this winter
Well, I thought of this creative headline for instance ;) But I also got married. To Marvin! In February in Gengenbach which is in the deepest Black Forest. Marvin’s Family used to always spend their holidays there all together when he was young and it was his grandmother’s wish (that she told me since I know her) to go there once again. As all of our relatives live far aways from us, so far that they would have to spend the night, and we live only 1 hour or so away from Gengenbach we decided to get married there. It was a lot easier to find accommodations there and we even managed to get every one into the exact same holiday homes Marvin and his family spend their former holidays in. Continue reading
Agatha Cardigan
I didn’t have a single purple cardigan in my wardrobe until now. And that despite the fact, that I declared purple to be my favorite color. I was really glad to have another excuse to buy yarn. And again I ordered Drops yarn. I’m so glad that I found this source of yarn that is cheap in price but good in quality, I don’t know how else I could afford knitting all those garments. This time I ordered some Drops Merino Extra Fine in a dark purple. I ordered a lot of merino wool these last days, because I like its softness but I begin to find out, that merino isn’t everything. Continue reading
Pixelated Pullover
I’m a little behind in blogging my knitted makes and so it took me till now to show you my first knitted pullover in 2016. I started the year (knittingwise) with continuing my sock-yarn-leftovers-scarf, as well as my sock-yarn-leftovers-blanket, and I finished a pair of socks. But all of that didn’t keep me long from pursuing my dream of having a closet full of handknit Cardigans and sweater! ;) And since my discovery of the Pixelated Pullover by Jennifer Beaumont I knew I needed to add another pullover to my collection! Continue reading
Fair-Isle Cardigan
Last year at this time I was picking out the yarn I was going to use to knit my fair-isle dress, that I then finished in summer and showed in autumn. As I used different yarn than the one suggested in the instructions that has much less yardage per skeins I orderer way to much yarn and had over 1 kg left of Drops Karisma in all the different colors. I thought about what to make from it, maybe a blanket or some pillow cases? In the end I decided to make a cardigan, who would have thought that?! ;) Continue reading
Chuck
I recently added new colours to my favorite colour list! Usually I feel comfy in everything that is somehow purple or blue. Maybe pink and maybe even red. But these days I find myself amazed by coral. So when I had one of those days were I felt eager to try new things I ordered some coral and even turquoise wool! When they arrived my mood to try something new somehow had passed and I was sure that there was absolutely nothing in my closet that would match those colours. Continue reading
Navy Miette
I hope you had a good start in 2016! I certainly had. A lot of knitting, hanging on the sofa, sewing, taking walks and eating. Our neighbor partied a lot. Since Christmas we heard basses all day and night long. And some guy shouting ‘yappaaa’ every half hour. For quite some time now he doesn’t even open the door, when we try to complain and our landlord stopped answering the phone (and on sunday we found dog turd on our neighbor’s balcony… at least I hope it was dog turd.. he doesn’t own a dog..) Continue reading
