Chataigne Skirt

img_20150426_132953As I already mentioned in my post on the Chataigne shorts, Deer&Doe offer a tutorial, showing how to turn the Chataigne Shorts into a skirt. I got interested in the pattern because I saw someone in the Internet wearing the skirt, so I actually bought the pattern with the intention of making myself a skirt out of it. And I had the perfect fabric in my stash. A bought it at a fabric flea market in Maastricht, which is in the Netherlands and a real paradise for fabric shoppers! I wanted to sew a blouse from the fabric but as I realized later the fabric has transparent stripes. Continue reading

Agatha

img_20150413_185900Attending a wedding in May at the Northsea without a knitted cardigan, that is nothing for me! ;) I think dresses look much prettier in combination with a knitted cardigan! I had matching yarn to the dress I showed last week in my stash and for I while now I was lurking around the Agatha pattern. So, you’ve guessed it, I bought the pattern and knitted me one :) Continue reading

How I stabilize button bands

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I stabilized the button bands of my newest knit cardigan and I remembered to document it, yay! Button bands always tend to wear out, I realized that very soon after knitting my first cardigans. I started stabilizing my buttonbands with petersham, Lauren has published a great tutorial on her blog that explains how that is done. I improved that technique for myself by using fabric instead of petersham, because I think that looks much neater. Continue reading

Racoon-Belladone

img_20150413_190152Marvin’s sister is getting married! First thing I thought was: Dresses! Yay! What a great excuse to shop fabrics and sew some dresses. Yes, some dresses! I have quite a few in mind and the one I am showing you today is only the beginning ;) I used the Belladone pattern by Deer&Doe. I fell in love I first saw the pattern! Uuuuu so gorgeous! I cannot remember why I didn’t buy the pattern right away. Anyway, when I ordered the other 2 patterns (Chataigne and Bruyere) it was only natural to order Belladone as well. Continue reading

Bruyère

img_20150412_142307I got the  Deer&Doe fever! They offer such beautiful patterns! And since a overcame the barrier of buying their paper patterns I am unstoppable! The first pattern I sewed were those adorable Chataigne Shorts! I just recently finished a Chataigne Skirt. But today I am going to show you something different: the Bruyere Blouse. I want to shows it to you as long as long sleeve garments are appropriate to the weather ( and I hope this won’t be for too long now :)) Continue reading

Skyline

img_20150405_133644I am back from my trip to the black forest. I cannot say that the weather was great, not even remotely. It was really really cold in our cosy little caravan. But we had a heater and I have a lot of thick and warm sweaters. One of those I am going to show you now. Since I saw the City Scape Pullover from SakikoJones (here on Ravelry) I knew I needed one of those and last weekend it was my chance to wear it (hopefully) the last time this year as it should be spring by now! Chataigne Shorts & Renfrew Shirt

img_20150329_122342And again it is wednesday! Aand I have something to show to you all! Just recently I told everyone that I was still sewing winter clothes, but that has changed as soon as I made my first order at Deer&Doe. For a long time I had an eye on some (or: most)of their patterns! I do not know why I didn’t order, I think I thought shipping costs are high, but in fact they are not! Within EU they are only 2 €, regardless of how many patterns you order! Continue reading

Self-drafted duffle bag

img_20150329_121749I started adding english translastions to my blog posts, yeah! I recently realized that some of my readers do not speak german, so I figured I could write my post additionally in english. They are not going to be quite as long as they are in german, but anyway, better than nothing, right? So, return to the subject: My boyfriend Marvin had his birthday recently and I sewed him a bag.
