I don’t know if this true for where you live but Flamingo Prints can be seen everywhere here in Germany right now. Last year it was the pineapple and the water melon, and before everyone was into foxes. Like with each of these trends I didn’t know that flamingos were a thing right now. You have to believe me, I’m not a hipster! I simply did not know! I saw this print out of the corner of my eye, when I was attending a sewing blogger meet up in a fabric store. I had to pause my conversation and buy this fabric! Continue reading
Matilda Dress
Finally I can show you the newest member of my shirt dress family! It has been finished and in my closet for a while now, I took the pictures in March, but the pattern has only been released this weekend so I waited patiently. I test sewed this dress in February and March for Megan Nielsen. It is called Matilda and it is a cute little shirt dress with lots of smart details. I got an email from the Megan Nielsen Team and all I had to do was click on a button, if I was okay with the conditions and wanted to test sew. No race, no application, no stress. Continue reading
Flora Dress
It is time to show you another dress. And to sew some more. It is hard to believe but last year I discovered a gap in my wardrobe: it was lacking breezy summer dresses and breezy tops. I must have been in denial about the gross weather in summer in southern Germany in the Rhine area. It is humid and it is hot! And it is getting worse every year. And what is even worse is that I have the impression other people are happy about that. Continue reading
Lace Top from handspun linen yarn
A year ago I knitted a summer top for the first time. What a revelation! Since then I have been on the look out for an affordable 100 % linen yarn. And I haven’t found it yet. For a time I was eyeballing with Quince and Co. Sparrow. Though the yarn is produced in Italy it is sold from the US, which makes it very expensive here in Europe. And what nonsense to transport a yarn from Europe to the US and than back to Europe, what an unnecessary waste of energy. Continue reading
Knitting Necklace
–Cooperation–
From time to time people/companies ask me if I was interested in reviewing their products on my blog. Most of the time I say no and only if I really like the product and the conditions I say yes. Because I know how hard it is to stay objective and write something negative but honest about something that I feel I got ‘for free’.
1083 – 101_2
A few weeks ago I sewed a pair of jeans for Marvin using the free LE101 pattern by the French clothing company 1083. The pants were black and thus very hard to photograph, so I had no other choice than to sew another pair ;) Luckily Marvin actually needs more jeans right now and even more luckily I am always excited to make some jeans. Continue reading
MeMadeMay Week 4
May is over and it didn’t disappointed. There were some rainy and cold days and some extremely warm and sunny ones. I wore knitted sweaters and summer dresses, a rain coat and a swim suit. For the last time this year I ant to show you what I wore last week. Continue reading
On the Alpaca Farm
It seems to be anew thing with me that each time I go somewhere I know exactly where the next alpaca far is located. How convenient! So when we last spend a week in a holiday apartment in the black forest there was the Kreuzmatthof only 10 km away from where we stayed, which of course was totally coincidental. So I wrote an email to Sabine asking if I may visit and maybe buy some wool, she almost immediately answered that I may :) Continue reading
MeMadeMay Week 3
And another week of May has gone by. Slowly the daily picture taking becomes routine and I got to the point where I wouldn’t be that sorry to stop taking daily pictures of my outfits. But there is only one more week to go, totally doable. Here comes what I wore last week: Continue reading
MeMadeMay Week 2
We are more than halfway through May and I want to show you what I wore last week. Carolyn asked me if I dress differently for MeMadeMay than usual and I thought about that. Knowing that I have a chance to show off my outfit I put more care into choosing it. Usually I just go with the first thing I see that I like. During May I think about what new combination I could wear and I try to rotate my garments as much as possible. So when the weather is a little colder I pick things that I cannot wear any longer once it is warmer. Continue reading
