Sleeveless Bruyere

img_20150830_182244Marvin asked me if I could sew him a jacket. So I ordered fabric at Stoff&Stil. And because there was a big sale I ordered some pink-orangeish light cotton fabric for me too. At this point of time I haven’t even gotten started on Marvin’s jacket. I haven’t even bought the pattern. But I already made a blouse from the fabric I bought for me. To be fair I have to say, that Marvin won’t need the jacket until autumn and I really needed this blouse (haha), plus his fabric is gray and mine is pink. So I didn’t have a choice, did I? :)

Moneta in stripes

img_20150823_104454Hello and a nice Sunday to y’all! Summer seems to end here soon it seems. It is raining more an the temperatures drop and I still have some clothes that I made for summer and haven’t blogged about yet. Might even be, that I haven’t worn some of those yet, whups. I think I sewed more than I actually needed this summer due to my month off in June! But whatever I like autumn better anyway and I usually wear me summer clothes till the begin of winter, everything goes with tights and jackets (and I love a good excuse to sew me some jackets ;)) Continue reading

Hawthorn again

img_20150823_102645Yay, may third Hawthorn, I simply love this pattern. I don’t even think it isthe most beautiful button up dress pattern out there but it definetly is the most fun to sew that I know of! It is easy and fast and you don’t need to be extra neat but it does look extra neat! :) I really like the simple collar, it doesn’t look too formal and it looks great underneath sweaters and cardigans. I might even say, that the first Hawthorn I made is my favourite dress. Especially in combination with my Hetty cardigan. Oh how I love this combination! Continue reading

3 Belcarras

img_20150809_175601When I started my new job back in July it was so hot! It still is! And you know how I love a good reason to sew some new clothes, right? ;) So I decided that, as I have nothing decent to wear with this weather, I needed something new! Something breezy but not too casual! I didn’t want a t-shirt but I wanted the comfort of a t-shirt! I found what I wanted over at Sewaholic, the Belcarra Blouse. And because I was really desperate (because I had nothing to wear! ;)) I made three of them. Continue reading

Knip Jurk

img_20150816_174502There is this dutch magazine: Knip. It is released monthly and always has a lot of beautiful patterns. Since last year it is transltaed into german and the german version of the magazine is called fashion style. What kind of a name is that? I am refusing to call that beautiful magazine that. To me it is still Knip and the dresses are called jurks. Funny language, sounds like someone is choking, jurk :D However, I bought the May issue before I went to Paris and fell in love with Jurk 19A (maybe the beautiful name played a part…). In Paris I bought the perfect fabric for this dress and in the end I made a Bonnell Dress from it. Continue reading

Raspberry Aster

img_20150816_172935I already told you: I have tons of this Raspberry Ikea fabric. The fabric was a blanket once! A real huge one! Would I have known that there are larger blankets than my 1,55 m blanket, I would have bought it! There’s nothing better than huge blankets. But, now I am stuck with my only slightly oversized blanket and needed to make something else out of this super oversized blanket. I already made a dress and pants out of it and I love wearing them, the fabric is breezy and felt really good against my skin. Also I like the raspberries, they make the dress so summery. Rayon Bonnell Without Keyholes

img_20150809_173914I have a story to tell you! I had the whole June off! I was in between jobs and decided to take a month long break! And it was great. As I had read on several blogs the city of Paris is great for fabric shopping.. Guess what I did back in June! ;) Before I moved to Kalsruhe in southern Germany I lived near the Netherlands, it is a fabric shopper’s paradise there I tell you! And now I was on the look-out for an alternative and I realized that there is a train stopping at Karlsruhe, that stops in Strasbourg and then: PARIS! Yay! Continue reading

Peony

img_20150802_185629Here’s another pattern I bought when there was this Thanks Giving/Black Friday/cyber Monday/Whatever huge sale over at Colette’s. Peony it is and it has been on my hard drive since then. I never found the right fabric for this dress Sale. When I didn’t work during June I went through my stash and I found a cotton-sateen fabric that I bought once to make a blouse from it, but I never did and I figured that this fabric would also be great a s a dress Continue reading

Cambie

img_20150726_180255A short while ago Tasia from Sewaholic published new product photos of older patterns. I liked those of the  Cambie Dress so much, that I decided to sew me another one. I don’t wear the two Cambie dresses I sewed before that often (here the red one, here the black one). Somehow I feel overdressed in them. But those new product pictures made the pattern look so casual that I decided to give the pattern another try. Continue reading

Cooper

img_20150621_170559As announced in my previous bag post I made a second bag! I had the  Colette Cooper Pattern on my computer for quite some time now. I bought it the last time everything was on sale over at Colette’s. I think it was the black Friday Week or something. I bought some other stuff too, like an old seabag because Christiane always sews such beautiful bags from them. But still I didn’t find the motivation. Continue reading
