Jeans Upcycling Bag

img_20160410_123858Again I’m late with my contribution to the German Bag Sew Along Challenge. I have finished the bag at the beginning of April but I didn’t find the time to blog about it. you see I prefer blogging about making clothing. And I really enjoy writing super long post and writing them in German and in English. And that just takes time and thus it is sometimes hard to find the motivation writing about bags. So the fact that I take part in the challenge is what motivates me here. Continue reading

Pleather Skirt

img_20160429_130429The reason why I didn’t mention the pattern in this post’s title is to get you at least a little bit excited. I might have sewn another pattern that I already have like 5 times in my closet, oh well. But as this project started with the fabric, I will tell you its story starting with the fabric. Believe me, this fabric is special. I found it in my favorite fabric store, which is located in Moers. I used to live nearby, but when we started working, Marvin and I moved like 400 km south. Even though I found fabric stores near where I live now, this fabric store has remained my favorite one. Continue reading

Minoru Raincoat

img_20160424_112133Recently I was looking for a fabric that I could use as curtains for our new living room. Buying interior decoration stuff is always hard with Marvin. He always settles on earth tones and I want to have a living room that looks like the Villa Villekulla! I don’t know how he does it but in the end he won and I ordered some beige/brown curtain fabric at Stoff&Stil To recover from this unpleasant experience I ordered one (or two.. or three) colorful fabrics together with the curtain fabric. You know I didn’t want the Stoff&Stil staff to worry about me. I didn’t have a choice really! Continue reading

Advances in bra sewing: Watson

img_20160328_142136Okay, I’ll have to admit that this has gotten harder than I thought it would! Fitting bras seems to be effortless for some people and I know that I can go to a store and buy a fitting bra without any problems. So why it is so hard to sew a fitting bra for myself? Over the last few month I did manage to sew some Boylston Bras. And oh, do they look nice, but the fit is rather peculiar! Continue reading

Ginger Jeans Camas Blouse

img_20160402_170734After finishing my wedding dress I felt the strong urge to finally make jeans again! I really like all the topstitching and all those little details you like hammering in rivets and embroidering back pockets. That is actually the most fun to me, embroidering back pockets. Also I have a lot of denim fabrics in my fabric closet because I keep on buying them, forgetting about the ones I already have, so sewing jeans is kind of a stash buster to me :) Continue reading

Cooper Backpack

img_20160402_170438I’m participating in the monthly bag sewing challenge initiated and organized by Greenfietsen. Every month there is a new theme for a bag. March’s theme was to sew an ‘everyday life bag’. As you might have noticed it is April by now and I haven’t shown you a bag ;) Well, I’m late but here it is! :) I decided to make a backpack as I only have one that has a very bright color. Also I don’t need a reason to sewe a bag ;) Continue reading

Wedding: Minoru Jacket

KuM0222At the end of December I began to rethink if my wedding dress paired with my cardigan would really be warm enough in February. The winter had come and I began to remember what that felt like. We had some really warm days in January and my hopes went up that maybe in February it wouldn’t be as cold as I’d thought. In the end I was so relieved to have sewn a real jacket for the wedding, because it was cold and it was raining. Continue reading

My Wedding Dress

KuM0140As announced on Sunday I’ll show you every garment I wore on my wedding in a separate post. I thought about not starting with the dress… but who am I kidding. I have been waiting for month to get a chance to show this dress off to you, so here we go! It really took me a while constructing this dress. Most of the time I spend planning it, I was unsure about everything and for a short instance I envied those girls who do exactly know what kind of dress they want for their wedding. I’m not quite sure if those girls really exist… Continue reading

What I really did this winter

KuM0130Well, I thought of this creative headline for instance ;) But I also got married. To Marvin! In February in Gengenbach which is in the deepest Black Forest. Marvin’s Family used to always spend their holidays there all together when he was young and it was his grandmother’s wish (that she told me since I know her) to go there once again. As all of our relatives live far aways from us, so far that they would have to spend the night, and we live only 1 hour or so away from Gengenbach we decided to get married there. It was a lot easier to find accommodations there and we even managed to get every one into the exact same holiday homes Marvin and his family spend their former holidays in. Continue reading
