After finishing my wedding dress I felt the strong urge to finally make jeans again! I really like all the topstitching and all those little details you like hammering in rivets and embroidering back pockets. That is actually the most fun to me, embroidering back pockets. Also I have a lot of denim fabrics in my fabric closet because I keep on buying them, forgetting about the ones I already have, so sewing jeans is kind of a stash buster to me :) Continue reading

Cooper Backpack
I’m participating in the monthly bag sewing challenge initiated and organized by Greenfietsen. Every month there is a new theme for a bag. March’s theme was to sew an ‘everyday life bag’. As you might have noticed it is April by now and I haven’t shown you a bag ;) Well, I’m late but here it is! :) I decided to make a backpack as I only have one that has a very bright color. Also I don’t need a reason to sewe a bag ;) Continue reading
Wedding: Minoru Jacket
At the end of December I began to rethink if my wedding dress paired with my cardigan would really be warm enough in February. The winter had come and I began to remember what that felt like. We had some really warm days in January and my hopes went up that maybe in February it wouldn’t be as cold as I’d thought. In the end I was so relieved to have sewn a real jacket for the wedding, because it was cold and it was raining. Continue reading

I had some bigger wedding DIY projects like my dress, my cardigan and my jacket. And they deserved a separate post each. But I also made a lot of smaller things for the occasion. I made a wedding garter, the invitations (which also included fabric), I made a handbag, and Marvin’s tie and breast pocket handkerchief. Continue reading
Wedding: Featherweight Cardigan
When I started planning my wedding dress it was clear to my that I would not only sew a dress but also knit a a cardigan. I simply love the combination dress/cardigan and I knew I would need it, as the wedding took place in winter. When I planned the cardigan back in November I really thought that this cardigan would be enough to keep me warm during the day. Oh how wrong I was! Continue reading
My Wedding Dress
As announced on Sunday I’ll show you every garment I wore on my wedding in a separate post. I thought about not starting with the dress… but who am I kidding. I have been waiting for month to get a chance to show this dress off to you, so here we go! It really took me a while constructing this dress. Most of the time I spend planning it, I was unsure about everything and for a short instance I envied those girls who do exactly know what kind of dress they want for their wedding. I’m not quite sure if those girls really exist… Continue reading
What I really did this winter
Well, I thought of this creative headline for instance ;) But I also got married. To Marvin! In February in Gengenbach which is in the deepest Black Forest. Marvin’s Family used to always spend their holidays there all together when he was young and it was his grandmother’s wish (that she told me since I know her) to go there once again. As all of our relatives live far aways from us, so far that they would have to spend the night, and we live only 1 hour or so away from Gengenbach we decided to get married there. It was a lot easier to find accommodations there and we even managed to get every one into the exact same holiday homes Marvin and his family spend their former holidays in. Continue reading
Agatha Cardigan
I didn’t have a single purple cardigan in my wardrobe until now. And that despite the fact, that I declared purple to be my favorite color. I was really glad to have another excuse to buy yarn. And again I ordered Drops yarn. I’m so glad that I found this source of yarn that is cheap in price but good in quality, I don’t know how else I could afford knitting all those garments. This time I ordered some Drops Merino Extra Fine in a dark purple. I ordered a lot of merino wool these last days, because I like its softness but I begin to find out, that merino isn’t everything. Continue reading
Boylston Bra
I’m back! We’re done moving. Well, of course we’re not done, not everything has found its place yet and we still have to make give the old apartment officially back, but We are now officially living here, we finally van access the Internet and I have already sewn a dress in my new sewing room :) And that is all that matters, right? ;) I’m not done furnishing my sewing room, so you guys will have to wait for some photos of the finished room, but I promise I’ll get there and I’ll totally show off my new bigger and improved sewing room :) Continue reading
Pixelated Pullover
I’m a little behind in blogging my knitted makes and so it took me till now to show you my first knitted pullover in 2016. I started the year (knittingwise) with continuing my sock-yarn-leftovers-scarf, as well as my sock-yarn-leftovers-blanket, and I finished a pair of socks. But all of that didn’t keep me long from pursuing my dream of having a closet full of handknit Cardigans and sweater! ;) And since my discovery of the Pixelated Pullover by Jennifer Beaumont I knew I needed to add another pullover to my collection!
