I planned on blogging about my newly made jeans today, but unfortunately it is this time of year were it is really hard to make good pictures as it is always dark or rainy or both when I have time to take them. So instead I’m showing you photos that Marvin made about two weeks ago from my second attempt on the Gillian wrap dress. My first one was a summer version and since I made it I knew that a needed another more wintery version of it and so here it is! Continue reading

Boylston Bra
As already announced, I made a Boylston Bra! In general I prefer to wear bras that are lined with foam and after sewing those great fitting Marlboroughs (here and here) I was eager to try the new Orange Lingerie Boylston Bra pattern that can be lined with foam. In the beginning I wasn’t sure about those broad straps, but when I saw more and more Boylston Bras appearing in the net I decided to give the pattern a try.
Minoru
I made another jacket, hähähähä! In my mind sewing jackets is even more fun than sewing button ups or jeans. The only problem is that they take a lot of space in closets and that you really cannot justify having more than let’s say 6 jackets per season ;) Another problem with me and my jackets is that I my bike every morning an afternoon and that I need jackets that are warm, water and draftproof. Today I got another (ex) holy grail for you! It is a knitting holy grail this time. You see, my analogy doesn’t make sense. I have some grails, and they often change. Every time I reach one I got three grails more. But maybe that is exactly what a holy grail is ;) However, this project was a really huge one, it took me two month. Mainly because I couldn’t move it or take it with me, as it was so huge. Also I already finished it back in June, but it was way too ht to show it off back then. Continue reading
Ruby Slip Dress
I own exactly one slip dress. I made it about a year ago from pink knit fabric and it just looks awful. But it does its duty, it prevents my unlined dresses from sticking to my tights. I made some more unlined dresses last summer and it was time to sew some more slip dresses before winter starts. This time I decided to use more slippery and woven fabric and I soon came across the free Ruby Slip dress pattern from Pattern Scissors Cloth. Continue reading
Brumby and Lady Skater TShirt
I made another blue outfit! It is Brumby Skirt and a Lady Skater TShirt. Before you ask, there is nothing like a Lady Skater Tshirt, I justused the Lady Skater Dress bodic that fits me so well to make a tshirt. I simply lengthened it to shirt length with the help of my Renfrew pattern et voila! I could have just gone with the Renfrew pattern, but I didn’t have enough fabric and the Lady Skater sits much tighter, so I was able to make a shirt from some leftovers I still had in my stash. I love it when that happens! Continue reading
Chardon
As already announced last week, I made another Deer&Doe Chardon Skirt. There is nothing much special about this skirt. Just 3 pleated rectangles sewn together. There isn’t even a lining included in the instructions. And as I already made one boring solid coloured version I thought that this time I needed to do something reeeeally fun! ;) So I started watching out for fabrics with wide stripes. Doesn’t seem like many people are looking for something like this because I didn’t find any. Continue reading
Jordan
Pattydoo is a German pattern designer and lately she released some men patterns. The latest is the Jordan Hoodie. Most of pattydoo’s design are very basic and kept simple, they are also very inexpensive, like 3 € per pattern. Uncommon for a German pattern designer there are always seam allowances included in the patterns. They are only 1 cm, but better than nothing. Most patterns don’t come with written instructions but video tutorials. Marvin liked the design and so I decided to give it a try. It’s not like there are many alternatives for men’s hoodies sewing pattern out there. Continue reading
Audrey in Unst and Chardon
I#m really into blue at the moment. The fabrics I buy and work with are blue and the yarns I knit with are blue. I always thought that my favourite color was red or violet, something fresh and exciting, but know I’m somehow stuck with with boring blue. I remember that when I was in pre school my favourite color was blue. And then blue eye shadow got trendy and blue lots its appeal to me ;) There are still some shades of blue that I really dislike. Like royal blue. It reminds me of 90’s bathrooms. And of a German football club.. ;) Continue reading
Marlborough and Geneva
So, Bra Making Fever took me again ;) I ordered some bra kits and I just couldn’t stand the idea of letting them stay for longer than lets say: 3 days rest in my stash. An so directly after finishing my first test Marlborough I cut into this beautiful dark red lace and fabric and made another Marlborough! And matching undies for that matter. I ordered at sewy and there is always way to much fabric and lace in their kits. After making one pair of panties I still have enough left to make another bra or briefs. Continue reading
