Lynn

img_20151206_114500After having finished my super comfy hoodie I showed on Wednesday I was so totally in the zone that I instantly made another hoodie. I didn’t even have to rethread my serger and I didn’t switch the pattern designer. I made another pullover from German pattern designer pattydoo. This pattern is called “Lynn” and sadly it is not available in English. I’m sorry! But it is very simple and quick to sew and the pattern is very cheap and well drafted. Continue reading

Janice

img_20151206_113804‘Chaaaaandler’ is what is in my head when I hear ‘Janice’. and when I think about I guess Janice was one of the best characters in friends! So I was kind of pleased when German pattern designer pattydoo released her new hoodie pattern ‘Janice. She always gives the patterns English names, but unfortunately most of them are only available in German. The time she released ‘Janice’ the male counterpart ‘Jordan’ was released, too. It is basically the same hoodie only for men and I already made one for Marvin. Continue reading

Hollyburn and Nettie

img_20151122_155452Today’s post has everything! A pattern that I’ve already made several times, a skirt and a new pattern! But there is almost no blue colour in it today. But a lot of red which seems to be my favourite colour as soon as temperatures drop and believe me: they’re dropping like mad these days. It is freezing here over in Germany. But well, there is no bad weather there is only inappropriate clothing! A good reason to sew something new to keep me from freezing ;) Continue reading

Butterick B5526

img_20151107_160832This autumn I seem to make man third repeats of one pattern. I like to think that is a good sign. I feel like I have found some basics that I can rely on like the Ginger Jeans pattern or the Kelly Skirt. It is more fun for me to try new patterns but recently I also found joy in redoing a pattern and trying to make a really clean finish. I tried that with the project I’ll show you in a second. It is my third attempt on Butterick B5526, my favourite and reliable shirt pattern and I am really satisfied with the way it turned out! Continue reading

Kelly in wild!

img_20151104_133057Do you know that situation were you told your grandma that you liked something and afterwards there won’t be a Christmas or birthday where you don’t get that exact thing from her as a present? Well, in that matter, I am my own grandma. There was I time when I thought that a could use one or two more skirts and recently I find myself sewing one skirt after the other in the moment. Ginger and Lady Skater

img_20151108_143841After having some issues taking photos of my newest jeans I am finally ready to show it to you!:) The weather got better and I was able to take some pictures while I was in homeoffice. We also had great weather last weekend and so I got Marvin to take pictures of a whole new outfit, which consist of those already mentioned new Ginger Jeans and a Lady Skater TShirt. Gillian Wrap Dress in Winter

img_20151023_145139I planned on blogging about my newly made jeans today, but unfortunately it is this time of year were it is really hard to make good pictures as it is always dark or rainy or both when I have time to take them. So instead I’m showing you photos that Marvin made about two weeks ago from my second attempt on the Gillian wrap dress. My first one was a summer version and since I made it I knew that a needed another more wintery version of it and so here it is! Continue reading

Boylston Bra

img_20150913_174236As already announced, I made a Boylston Bra! In general I prefer to wear bras that are lined with foam and after sewing those great fitting Marlboroughs (here and here) I was eager to try the new Orange Lingerie Boylston Bra pattern that can be lined with foam. In the beginning I wasn’t sure about those broad straps, but when I saw more and more Boylston Bras appearing in the net I decided to give the pattern a try.

Minoru

img_20151019_154644I made another jacket, hähähähä! In my mind sewing jackets is even more fun than sewing button ups or jeans. The only problem is that they take a lot of space in closets and that you really cannot justify having more than let’s say 6 jackets per season ;) Another problem with me and my jackets is that I my bike every morning an afternoon and that I need jackets that are warm, water and draftproof. Ruby Slip Dress

IMG_3623I own exactly one slip dress. I made it about a year ago from pink knit fabric and it just looks awful. But it does its duty, it prevents my unlined dresses from sticking to my tights. I made some more unlined dresses last summer and it was time to sew some more slip dresses before winter starts. This time I decided to use more slippery and woven fabric and I soon came across the free Ruby Slip dress pattern from Pattern Scissors Cloth. Continue reading
