Rigel Bomber

img_20150920_152140Today I’ll tell you another story of a pattern that I didn’t buy because I thought it was expensive Rigel Bomber by Papercut Patterns. In my mind Papercut sold their patterns for around 20 € each and that was just too expensive for me. It was even so expensive that it took a pattern as beautiful as the Rigel Bomber to lure me back on their shop site. I was really astonished when I learned that the PDF pattern cost only 11 €, peanuts! Ha! I don’t know why I thought the patterns cost so much more, but this isn’t the first time that has happened to me. Continue reading

Jedediah and Tom

IMG_3468Poor Marvin has nothing to wear! Since I’m sewing all of my clothes no one is forcing him go fashion shopping and he starts to realize that he could use some new garments. As my closet is bursting (which btw is a problem of a too small closet if you ask me) I liked the idea of sewing something for him from time to time. Unfortunately it is much harder to find patterns and fabric for men, but you now me: nothing can stop me! ;) Continue reading

Denim Jacket

IMG_3431There are a few things concerning sewing that I have great respect for. Or even fear of. They are like holy Grails, I totally wanna make and have them but they seem so unachievable. This was the case with jeans for example or bras. And when I make bras and jeans I’m still not totally pleased with they way they turned out right after having finished them. It’s like I have a vision in my head that is just unachievable. However, another thing on that list was denim jackets! I love wearing them, unfortunately they are always too short and end at my belly button when I buy them in stores. Continue reading

Marlborough

img_20150830_184329I sewed bras twice in my life. For both I used patterns from a German bra making company, sewy. Both bras didn’t fit. The first one didn’t fit because I chose the wrong size. After I had published the post a friend told me that most women wear the wrong bra size and I started informing myself and found out that I actually wasn’t a 34A, but a 30D. I already had realized that a 34 band is too wide, but 32A didn’t fit me , so I stuck with 34A. Can you believe what kind of reveal it was to me, when I read that the cup size alone doesn’t say anything about the volume of the cup?! Continue reading

Ginger

img_20150906_121042Finally it is cold enough here to start thinking about wearing jeans again! And speaking of which: I made another pair of Ginger Jeans, yay! Since I made my first ones I’m obsessed wit this pattern and I don’t think I will try another Jeans pattern in the near future, it seems to be made for my lower body and the instructions are just great! Like with my ginger Gingers I sewed the low rise view A of the pattern in size 8 but made the legs skinny. Continue reading

Turquoise Hetty

img_20150830_182852It would be a pity if I had to stop wearing the sleeveles blouse I showed on wednesday just because it is getting colder.Luckily I knitted myself a matching cardigan ;) Okay, I admit, that the matching wasn’t intentional it just happened. When I looked for fabric to stabilize the button bands I realized that the blouse’s fabric matched very well because there is a tiny bit of turquoise in it. But back then I wouldn’t have thought that the blouse and the cardigan might look good together but when I tried it just for fun I actually liked the combination. Continue reading

Sleeveless Bruyere

img_20150830_182244Marvin asked me if I could sew him a jacket. So I ordered fabric at Stoff&Stil. And because there was a big sale I ordered some pink-orangeish light cotton fabric for me too. At this point of time I haven’t even gotten started on Marvin’s jacket. I haven’t even bought the pattern. But I already made a blouse from the fabric I bought for me. To be fair I have to say, that Marvin won’t need the jacket until autumn and I really needed this blouse (haha), plus his fabric is gray and mine is pink. So I didn’t have a choice, did I? :)

Moneta in stripes

img_20150823_104454Hello and a nice Sunday to y’all! Summer seems to end here soon it seems. It is raining more an the temperatures drop and I still have some clothes that I made for summer and haven’t blogged about yet. Might even be, that I haven’t worn some of those yet, whups. I think I sewed more than I actually needed this summer due to my month off in June! But whatever I like autumn better anyway and I usually wear me summer clothes till the begin of winter, everything goes with tights and jackets (and I love a good excuse to sew me some jackets ;)) Continue reading

Hawthorn again

img_20150823_102645Yay, may third Hawthorn, I simply love this pattern. I don’t even think it isthe most beautiful button up dress pattern out there but it definetly is the most fun to sew that I know of! It is easy and fast and you don’t need to be extra neat but it does look extra neat! :) I really like the simple collar, it doesn’t look too formal and it looks great underneath sweaters and cardigans. I might even say, that the first Hawthorn I made is my favourite dress. Especially in combination with my Hetty cardigan. Oh how I love this combination! Continue reading

3 Belcarras

img_20150809_175601When I started my new job back in July it was so hot! It still is! And you know how I love a good reason to sew some new clothes, right? ;) So I decided that, as I have nothing decent to wear with this weather, I needed something new! Something breezy but not too casual! I didn’t want a t-shirt but I wanted the comfort of a t-shirt! I found what I wanted over at Sewaholic, the Belcarra Blouse. And because I was really desperate (because I had nothing to wear! ;)) I made three of them. Continue reading
